IDC NATO program of activities for 13 to 15 October

NATO Information and Documentation Center in Moldova is organizing a series of activities next week in Balti, Cahul and Comrat. The events will be attended by a delegation of two officers of NATO, James Mackey, head of Integration Partnership and Euro-Atlantic Cooperation and Krisztian Meszaros, an officer in the Department of Euro-Atlantic Integration, Partnership and Cooperation, Political Affairs and Security Policy Division.

On October 13, NATO officers will participate in a discussion with master students and PhD students of the Moldova State University. The discussion will approach the topic moldovan citizens’s perception concerning NATO and about the role of this organization in the world. It will take place at CID NATO, at 6:00 pm.

The second event from the list is a public lecture held by James Mackey and Krisztian Meszaros on “NATO’s role to ensure peace and security, at University “Alecu Russo” from Balți. Defining a path for relations between Moldova and NATO. ” The event will take place on October 14, 11:00 pm at “Alecu Russo” Bălţi State University.

On the same day, also at “Alecu Russo” Bălţi State University, it will take place a roundtable wiht the topic Perception of NATO in Moldova: Between myth and reality. The event will start at 14:00, and the approached topics will take into acount the way how the NATO perception in Republic of Moldova has evolved in 20 years since the establishment of bilateral partnership between the two actors.

The next day, on the 15th, NIDC team together with two officers from Headquarters will get in Cahul and Comrat from the south of the Republic, where it will be held two roundtables on NATO perception problem in Moldova. Together with the NIDC team and the delegation two NATO officers, local experts, civil society and media representatives will attend the events. The roundtable from Cahul will start at 2:00 pm at the State University of Cahul (Indepenenței Square, No.1), and the roundtable from Comrat in the State University of Comrat (17 Galațana street).
