Post training activity “Developing the National Actional Plan for the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325”: cooperation perspectives

Between 2016-2018, the Information and Documentation Center on NATO in Moldova (IDC NATO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and the Institute for Inclusive Security in Washington (ISI) is implementing the project ‘National Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova for the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325’. The first phase of the project will last for six months, beginning in September, 2016. The first project activities took place during 24th – 28th of October. As a continuation of these activities, IDC NATO organized on December 21st a work meeting with the participants of the first workshop, held on 26-28 October as well as other people interested in the project. Participants were representatives of several state institutions, civil society and international missions such as EUBAM.
The activity was moderated by Mrs. Natalia Albu, researcher, Academy of Sciences of Moldova. Activity started with a welcoming remark made by the Executive Director of IDC NATO – Mrs Elena Marzac and Mrs Ariel Gordon, program coordinator, ISI (via Skype). It continued with a constructive dialogue between participants on strengthening efforts in promoting the UN Security Council resolution, discussing their actions after the workshop in October to promote the resolution within the institutions they represent. In the same context, the participants expressed their desire to be involved in other activities later.
An important point that was discussed during the event was the subsequent actions to be taken by both the directors and co-directors of the project, as well as representatives of state institutions and civil society already involved in the project. Therefore, it identified new priorities to be considered and implemented.
